Just wanted to double check whether the OEM wing mirror covers for the 2005-2008 spec cars stick on over the existing base plastic or replace the plastic top half completely like the newer mirrors.

The newer ones look easy to pop off, if the older ones need removing is it the same process? Tom

The chrome covers are glued on to a 1 piece mirror underneath.

The only way to fetch them off it with a lot of brute force and a flexible knife to cut through the mastic.

Ps dont try and be a smart ass like me, i tried using a piece of guitar string like a cheese wire and ended sawing through the actual main mirror casing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

So the original casings are one piece then? I will hold off on trying to pry it apart with a screwdriver then! I want to add java black top cases to the standard mirror to look like the newer ones.

Covers just glue on the top I bought some genuine ones off Dan they look the part  Mine was a blue one!
