As per title, I'm no longer getting cold air from the A/C. Where should I start looking? Or Is it a just a case of re-gassing it? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

If you have a facelift, check the red/blue rotating switch it on cold. Otherwise probably a regas. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

try a re-gas and then consider the air con radiator might be leaking...its right in front of the 'normal' rad and gets easily damaged by stones of the road... ... - .- -.

Don't go to Kwikfit, they haven't a clue. Best find someone who knows what they are doing. I did a 50 mile round trip last week to have mine re-gassed

I used kwikfit, service/attitude was poor. Aircon worked for a few days then no cold air again. I must have a leak.

Hope you have better luck than I did, in mine the compressor packed up and spewed crap through the entire system. Have almost everything replaced ;( Take it to a good A/C place to make sure there are no other issues. They can also add some "tracer" to the fluid to find leaks. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Hey noddy, given we have the same age car.....

My A/C stopped working so went to Kwikfit for a regas. This worked for a while, but then packed up again. Then used a specialist. My condensor had sprung a leak so we fitted a new one (£150 I think), regassed and all has been well for a year now.

I have (and have had) the A/C on all the time, even across the winter, which may help to keep things ticking over.

So take to someone who knows what they are doing  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

The air-con should be kept running all the time. Modern units do not consume much energy unlike the old clutch type.

Amen to both of these statements. Kwikshit / Jiffypube like places should not be allowed to touch an AC, IMO.

Regassing alone is only a real solution in about 1-2% of all AC probs. If all other AC components are ok then the gas still went somewhere. The new gas will go there too. If you don't fix the problem, you will have done nothing but waste money and harmed the environment.

The gas carries oil with it when it rushes through the system to keep you cool (this is why ACs should be run even in winter - the o-rings and seals dry out without oil and the system leaks. Not to mention the positive effects of dehumidifying the interior of the vehicle. Where is Dan now?). This oil comes out at leaks too and often an oily smudge is a good indicator of a problem.

As Stan said, the condenser (AC radiator) is prone to leaking as the aluminum corrodes and holes open. Hard to check quickly and expensive to replace.
