Auto gearbox software

Dmrr mentioned on another post to check if software on gearbox is up to date, well I want to check mine as gear changing is sometimes a bit erratic lately bout 75k in clock, already got flushed.

Question- is software update expensive and can only Main LR dealers do it?

Will it affect the remap that was done?

Tia Thumbs Up

I was thinking the same thing, although I haven't had mine remapped or the box flushed. I'm at the stealers later so might ask how much it would cost.

I was told it would be an hours labor for the software updates but since my car has them i don't need it.

it doesnt always effect the remap, i had my software updated recently and it hasnt effect the remap on mine. i asked gary at td5 alive who did the map if it would affect it before taking it in, he said it shouldnt but if it does bring it back for a free install again but luckily it didnt need it. Thumbs Up

I had mine updated today as they changed their mind and said it wasn't up to date (they checked properly this time). The adaptions have definitely cleared so something has been updated. Need to test it out but I'm off to the pub so won't be until tomorrow / friday.
