So whats this for

Censored arsing about with the inside tailgate and wondered what this was , so prised it out and found it was connected to some wire of some sort , thought it can't be to unlock the tailgate when closed coz you can't get access to it ….

So ….. Whistle Whistle

Is that to open the fuel cap manually? There was something similar on my P38 although that was in the side of the boot near the 12V socket. African Bush Junkie ... in London!

You get access to it by pushing down fairly hard on the plastic bit on the rear edge of the parcel shelf, and then easing it towards you.

Not ideal, I know, but gets you to the manual release cable.

I only know because I reread my manual after having the car for about 6 months.
