Went to JE Engineering and had Td6 Remap..........

......yesterday........

...and I'm still smiling.

Well worth the money. I had my previous Td5 remapped by Alive Tuning in Grimsby, and they did a cracking job, but didn't seem to have as much going on for the Td6, so I decided the 150 mile round trip to Coventry would be on the cards.

Well happy. The car feels like its got a bigger engine, is more smoother, and I'd swear it's more quiet now cold, than it was previously when warmed up.

The mid range torque is immense. So much nicer to drive.

Got 34.8 mpg on the way down, and 31mpg going back, but then I was pressing on more.

My car also has a K & N filter and the EGR removed.

The engineer did wander in after about an hour to say he'd got bad news, and he'd just got my car to run again Shocked It appears it only talks to his laptop when it feels like it (via the OBDII port).

This tallies with a thread I did on here where I couldn't get Navcoder to work, and flattened my battery in the process. Def got an issue with the port.....

After another 20 mins, he managed to get it all working and said he was happy.

Seriously, if you think you might need about another 50 bhp and about 100 Nm of torque, they are the place to go.

Money well spent.

Yes there is more torque about, going through the old GM box, but I figure if I can get the same performance as I did before, without having to rev it as high, its got to be better all round.

Oh, and if you are feeling a bit rich, they can supply you with a 480 bhp Defender..........

glad you are happy with this, but out of interest what are the BHP and torque figures now after the remap and how much did it cost?

I suppose you don't get all the money back, but to me, it makes a good car great.

Someone on here said that if they'd not had a remap, they'd have sold it by now.

JE Engineering say '

Another "understated" JE tune that endows the Big Range Rover so fitted to cruise effortlessly with power for safe acceleration. A tune in perfect harmony with the stylish panache of the L322 Range Rover. No fuss, no noise, no white-knuckle overtaking manoeuvres, just power with style.

A remapped chip increases power from 173bhp to 218bhp (increase of 45bhp) and torque from 390Nm to 488Nm (an increase of 98Nm) Effortless cruising and much improved acceleration.

I got a bit more having the K&N etc......

Surely you mean 2x not 3x ?

Hello, could you tell me what was the mileage of your td6 when you did the remap? I am about to buy a td6 of 170 000 km (110 000 miles), and would like to know if it is not too high to do the remap? Thank you. Ludo

are your MPG figures being displayed on the trip computer? if so they won't be realistic!!

i had my TD6 tuned and the computer produced stupid figures to be honest. the only way to get a realistic figure is on a fill to fill after doing a few hundred miles. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

My fuel computer is 1.5mpg over my actual. Not too bad. I can get 38 overall easy on a run ... assume he was also on a run. Can do timed shots if you think it's not possible lol Land Rover Addict

My car has done 117800 miles........

Was on motorways - doing 60 for the last bit to get 34......

It was off the computer - I appreciate its only a rough figure.

i am not disputing the figures, it would just do my head in driving like Miss Daisy to get them.

i just love hooning around in my 300+ BHP TDV8... Twisted Evil

but i agree with everything you have said about the TD6 being esentially the car it should have been after the tune.

happy motoring. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

for what its worth my MPG on the computer is spot on, even when calculating on brim to brim doing it the old fashioned way.

Perhaps the difference on some vehicles could be to some extend due to tyre wear - there is a setting in the on board computer to re set the computer after new tyres are fitted.

There are a few on here who have been to JE, RRUK did a write up if you search it, excellent company to deal with and very helpful & friendly Thumbs Up

I have used fuelly from when bought, and left trip B as was (reset at first fill up). Trip B over reporting by 1.5mpg over same distance of almost 3000 miles now, so not much slippage Wink (for those checking mileage - just up for next fill up!) Land Rover Addict

I don't normally drive like Miss Daisy, but I'd have been half an hour early for my booking.

Seems fairly easy to get over 30 mpg on a good run, without really trying.

I tend to drive in a fairly "normal" manner, doing 30 in a 30, 40 in a 40, but I do like to go at my own pace when the roads open up a bit.

It was just that when you do get stuck behind a slower car, its now safer to get past. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I'd be amazed if you are getting anything over 30mpg in the real calculated world (and not on the trip).

The TDV6 engine in the discovery and RRS could manage it, and the newer SDV6 also, but the TD6 was known for its meagre performance all round, and when I had mine done by JE I got the same mpg but I was using the extra power, so it added up.

28mpg is about as good as it typically gets in the TD6.

Only since the introduction of the 4.4TDV8 can Land Rover claim 30mpg out of the factory. Discovery 4 HSE

Would love to see 28 mpg, 34mpg is simply unobtainable!

there is a stretch of motorway on the M3 where if I press the reset at the top of the hill I can get 43mpg over the next two miles, but that quickly disappears when we go up the other side Wink

Blanking my EGR made no difference.

Trucking along as 24mpg Sad .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
