Fuel consumption

Hi there,

I have been looking at few older threads that discuss MPG on the TDV8 diesel and the number of miles achievable on a tank.
I am a little confused, I currently have 4.4TDV8 and when full the highest range reading I have seen is approx. 450 miles. Some guys said they could see upto 600 miles on the 3.6 TDV8... am i missing something or is the 4.4TDV8 that much more thirsty?

Thanks in advance for any answers to what is ultimately a pointless question!!

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

Something doesn't seem right there I used to regally see 621 miles show up on myTD6 and if I'm careful I get 450 on my Supercharged , how heavy is your right foot ?
The 4.4 is meant to do much better than the 3.6 which didn't get much more than the old TD6 . 2008 MY Supercharged

A 22 gallon tank (100 litres) at 24mpg would see 528 miles. So if you are seeing way less, then you are doing way less mpg *or* not filling your tank up Big Cry Land Rover Addict

if your range is showing 450 miles then that is estimated from your current driving....say you are doing mainly town driving and getting 20mpg ,then the computer works out that thats all you will achieve and calculate the range from that..... ... - .- -.

All very strange! The avergae MPG states 27MPG - could they have changed the size of the tank on the 4.4? Definitely can't get anymore in it and fuel gauge shows as full??

I am sure i read that the diesel was 95 litres and the petrol 100 litres.

I did manage to get 101 litres into my petrol but the range had read zero for about 10 miles.

The most I have got into the 4.4 diesel is 90 litres and that was 503 miles from the last fill up giving 24.9mpg mainly 80 mph on motorway in very windy conditions.

Currently averaging 21mpg but that includes towing.

Looks like OBC is reading about 3mpg better than I am getting.

Ian

Will need to wait until I am at home as work limits part of Fuelly website.

All my fill ups are recorded on an Excel sheet started back in 1993 when it was 53p/litre.

Shows mpg for each fill and over the life of each car.

Also totals up the cost of fuel and that should be X rated.

Ian
