DVD copy / Region code elimination

Hi, does anyone know a good program that allows me to copy my original DVDs to a region free copy ?? We have DVDs from all over the world, so various regions and only a region 1 (FFRR) and a region 2 player. I would like to have a program that could copy and remove the region coding so we can play it on all the DVD players we have. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Have a look on doom9.org it's a wealth of info, you may need to free your drive in pc if you are ripping various regions to the drive.

Cheapest / easiest way:

Run a Linux distribution
Ensure you have libdvdcss2 and libudf installed/enabled
Use acid-rip / k9copy / Handbrake / etc to rip DVD's to create region free

Or doom9 may have free tools for Windows .

Its worth removing menus too so the movie just starts, especially with disney disks which have so many trailers your journey might be over before the film starts ! 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Hi guys, thanks very much for the info. I don't care so much about having it for free, I just want to be able to make all my DVDs work, both in the FFRR and on the players at home (PS3 and Samsung).

Since I run a media server via the PS3 (TVersity), does anyone know of a conversion program that circumvents the region coding that I can then run off the harddrive (the converted movie) but still retains functionality like subtitles and the likes ? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Looks like it may be possible, guess you'll have to try it and see:

Intermediate update : drive in laptop is region free now, just tried ripping the Worlds Fastest Indian and it worked. Used DVD Shrink (forgot that I had it until one of you guys mentioned it and the old memory, mine not the laptop) remembered it. Just changed the settings so it will do a single VoB file and not multiple.

Will continue till I have it all working of course Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Update on this one, I bought DVD Cloner 9 and it works very well. I used it on a region 2 DVD, it copies it with a minimum of fuss and removes the region code in a way that the DVD player in the FFRR (region 1) plays it without a hitch. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
