I think there may be some at cross purposes here between in and out (reach) an up and down (tilt).

Mine (2007) only tilts automatically but it's erratic sometimes sticking when it moves to the top to let you get out easier.

It doesn't really bother me as that's only a little higher than I like it anyway but I'll be delighted to turn the feature off! Geoff
