Car Park Access

Am a bit nervous about access height in car parts. I have a TDV8, on normal height would it get into a 2m car park restriction - including the roof fin?

Yes, boarded a ferry twice last week on normal ride height with a 2m restriction and no problem...

When you enter a car park flip down your sun visor and all the information is there to calculate your air draft , good luck with the maths . 2008 MY Supercharged

Yes it will, but I do recommend lowering and locking to access height if you are worried Smile Land Rover Addict

FFRR's fit no problem in most car parks I found.

The Prince Bishops car park in Durham is a bit tight in a FFRR though, even worse in my van, I had about 5cm of clearance between the roof of the works van and their PTZ/dome cctv cameras! 2006 Mercedes CLS

managed a 1.88m limit locked in access height the other day, but it was a scary experience to say the least! Especially as there was a sloped roof and hanging pipes in the car park after squeezing through the height barrier at the entrance.

Won't be back there again any time soon, but the height restriction was only shown after entering a one way route and i had cars behind me, so I couldn't exactly reverse out again!

2m is easily achievable, but as the other guys already said, stick it in access mode first and you'll have less butt clenching moments!

According to the visor, mine is 1.95 in off-road height with the roofbars on. Now who would go into a car park in off-road setting is beyond me ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Does anyone know if the height has changed over the years? Also why have the sun visor height stickers gone?

Not sure what's changed over the years but here's the extract from my manual (2007 TDV8):

A Overall width 2 216 mm 87.2 in
Overall width (mirrors folded) 2 034 mm 80.1 in
B Overall height
- Access height 1 820 mm 71.7 in
- Motorway height 1 840 mm 72.4 in
- Standard height 1 865 mm 73.4 in
- Off-road height 1 913 mm 75.3 in

The height is from the ground to the top of the aerial fin. Interesting that it shows 'standard' as 1.865 as opposed to the 1.93 mentioned above. A small but significant difference. 2012 5.0L S/C

What's motorway height? Is it if it goes over 100 and it lowers the suspension for stability?

More or less. When the car is driven over a certain speed for a set time, the suspension drops. The speed and time vary with different models. On my car it's 50mph+ for about 20 seconds. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Is there a motorway height on the L322? The P38 had it specifically on the dash and you could see when it dropped but you can't on the L322??

The other solution for the car parks (I've done this!!) is to put the Venturecam on the roof and have a look how much clearance you've got!!

There is a motorway height on the L322. on the height controls there are three on the right but one to the left of the control as well next to an image of a motorway.! It has a light to denote when you are in it, Ash
