2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

I haven't set eyes on mine for about 3 weeks now but I don't remember this! Is it age-related (either way)?

Yes. It was dropped as a feature. 10MY- certainly doesn't. Not sure about 2007MY.

In the pre 2006 L322 one could lock it into any height mode - normal/off road/highway/access. Trailer connection disables highway mode unless it is locked down before connecting a trailer.

With the post 2006 (2007 L322) the ability to lock is gone although I understand that there is a function for locking down of access mode for roofed car parking - I haven;t tried that one yet.

I own two L322 models.
Both have touch screens which of course have nothing to do with the EAS controls.

The older one is the 2005 td6 and all modes can be locked as it has the old style (non terrain response centre console switch system.
The newer one is the 2007 tdv8 with the terrain response centre console switch system which has no manual locking provision.

In summary this has no connection with "touch screen" as it all relates to the control of the EAS.

This may be due to differences in different markets.
I understood that all RR's were =very similar in their specs for their model/year combination irrespective of where they were sold.

My old 2005 td6 HSE was UK manufactured in late 2004 but that model (original external looks pre front grille headlamp revamp) was sold up until late 2005 here in Australia. It has the EAS controls under the climate controls which are under the touchscreen on the central dash. Full lock of EAS mode is available.

My wife's newer 2007 tdv8 Vogue SE was UK manufactured in late 2006 being a model (having the updated front exterior) was sld from early 2006 here in Australia. It has the EAS controls behind the gear selector adjacent to the Terrain Response knob and as such no manual EAS mode lock is available.

Both L322 models have identical touchscreens except the HSE has a lower specs with no SatNav nor VentureCam nor DVD/TV

If I knew how to paste pics in here they would explain it far better.

i'm sure kingpleb was using touchscreen to easily identify 2005 model year, not to say it has anything to do with operation of EAS...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

OK that's understood but touchscreens have been on the L322 RR since the very early 2000's not just since 2005 so that does not make any sense either.

Basically as I understand it there have been 3 variants of the L322 start-2005, 2006-2008, 2009-present +\- a couple of months either way at the edges.

I have a MY06 touchscreen. I have the EAS controls under the climate [centre console]. I am able to lock in 'Access' mode.

OK a mistake it is but not mine!

I am looking at my old 2004 UK manufactured L322 td6 HSE parked outside my office window as I type this post.
It has a touchscreen. The owner's handbook printed in 2002 gives all sorts of details for touchscreen use of the phone, SatNav and the list goes on and on.

So I guess you are saying that Land Rover was "mistaken" in selling Range Rovers with touchscreens pre 2005?

there are a very few touch screens on late 2004 ranges but they were mainly introduced in 2005..

my range is a pre-facelift and has a touch screen ..it was around the beginning of 2005 when BMW sold the fullfat to FORD and in this time bits from the facelift were fitted to the older models...

RAVE which is for the pre-facelift ranges [2002-2005] has no mention of touch screens.. ... - .- -.
