Just fitted new front discs and pads, pattern parts........noticed this cut out in one disc. Contacted the supplier of the discs who contacted their manufacturer who confirms this is to Land Rover spec but they don’t know why its there ......any idea..........

I think it indicates the minimum thickness you can run the disc down to before you need to change them.

I always assumed it was to balance them, but the minimum thickness sounds more likely

If something can't be fixed with a hammer....... You have yourself an electrical fault!

Could settle it by measuring- the min thickness is in RAVE.

I'd say balancing but it's a lot to take out and I doubt the disc would be that much out of balance

Wear sounds good but that's a lot of wear and leaves a pretty thin disc.

So really no scoobie doo. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
