I think it indicates the minimum thickness you can run the disc down to before you need to change them. |

I always assumed it was to balance them, but the minimum thickness sounds more likely

I think LR pinched the idea off BMW who have used the idea for a long time. |

I thought it was for balancing. The disc's are cast then machined flat etc they would then be balanced. Or that's how I always thought it was. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Could settle it by measuring- the min thickness is in RAVE. |

I'd say balancing but it's a lot to take out and I doubt the disc would be that much out of balance
