2017 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Indus Silver

The exhausts polish up,

They all look like scaffold tubes initially but I got mine mega shiny with the judicious application of britemax polish.

I've never had a problem with the perforated leather on the two tone seats Then again: no kids!

I think it makes the interior look pretty good and lifts it without going for a fully ivory interior.

Still, what do I know.

Thumbs Up

And the latest news is........

Repair estimate is £3700. Includes 2 new doors amongst all the other bits. So, it will be repaired! (Well, unless the insurance company have a brainstorm, but I can't see that!).

Overall I'm please about this, I stood to lose out in several ways if it had been repaired (for example, the tyres and the battery aren't very old, but you'd never get that value back). It'll take them around 2 weeks once they get the go-ahead, so it'll be a while yet. But it'll probably be running again before the Integra!!

Cracking news Cappo Smile

Are they banging the B pillar out then or putting a new panel onto it?

Oh if they replace the bottom parts of each door you couldnt do me a favour and ask for you passenger bottom section back please? I just need the rubber from the bottom of it as mine is peeling back from a clip that has snapped at some point Sad ??? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Not sure Will, mate of mine said better to straighten out what's there as there will be less interference and also all the protection and rustproofing will remain in place...

They did say two new doors - but I guess they'll transfer all the trim and seals over?? Or do you mean the plastic cover on the outside, which was smashed on mine?

That's the part, it has a rubber finisher at the bottom as well, they cover the bottom 1/4-1/3 of the door Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

That's a relief, hate to see a FFRR written off because of some idiot's shockingly poor driving skills. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

Ask the bodyshop to spray wax inside the doors when they fit them, before assembly but after paint whilst they are still stripped bare... (if nothing else they will see you are an enthusiast and maybe take alittle more pride in yours)

It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, Full Fat's coming home..... Cool

Later today apparently. I've told them not to deliver it in the dark! Mind you, weather forecast is for rain all day, and you know what they say, never buy a car int he rain, you can't see what the bodywork is like Rolling Eyes

But apparently I have a "lifetime guarantee" on the repair work, whatever that means, so if I'm not happy, it gets sorted. Let's have a half-FULL glass though and assume that I'll be ecstatic!!

On a downer, the ML hire car has suffered a small scratch, probably in a B&Q car park last weekend. It's small, certainly less than 10mm long, but noticeable as the base coat is white Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Wonder if I'll get mullered by the hire company for that.....when I hired it they said that any scratch which can be polished out is ignored, and for any other damage they have a gauge and if the damage fits inside the gauge they don't charge. But I don't know how big the gauge is - probably 0.1mm! I guess though that had it been my own car, I'd have to pay to repair it (or live with it - or just touch it in, but I'm not sure I should be touching in a scratch on someone else's car)
