Completely take your point, but of course I could buy something else which has been similarly affected but not recorded, and know nothing about it. It's a tough one, for sure.

Am already scanning the classifieds though!

Leave it out - stops the monkeys trashing the speakers by having the radio loud enough to hear over the car crushing metal nibblers! (Sorry)

Yes - but I know (a little) about how these fancy Range Rover thingies operate - leave the bluetooth module out for 2 weeks and you need a complete engine remap and all the glass replaced, which can only be done by a main dealer!!! Rolling with laughter

You might get new glass and a re-map on the insurance then!

Well it's just been taken away. I can't tell you how thoroughly dispiriting that was to see my P&J disappearing off up the road. Sad

Never mind, you can thrash the Censored off the E class for a few days to make up for it.

BTW, I had a look round a new E class a few days ago when I was collecting some parts for mine, I have to say, they look bland & boring compared to my CLS.

Are they repairing it? Have you heard anything from the insurance company? Researching my first Range Rover purchase

Not yet, it was only recovered at lunchtime on Friday so I guess a day or two before they have a look at it.

If it does get totalled, then apart from the rather Marmite seats, what else is wrong with this at the money:

Cool

Looks good value. Hate the contrasting seats, and there's something not right about the exhausts... Graham

Early SC's all had exhausts like that, well all the ones i've seen. They just dont get chrome trims Sad

If it were me cappo i'd be straight out to buy some seat covers from LR as those perforations will soon get grub in them...

Maybe get the gloss black covers for the window switchs from PowerfulUK so that it all matchs up nicely.

To be fair at that price you have a good choice of TDV8 for your daily driver as you have the coop for speed and style, the RR should be for practicality and comfort with some speed still Very Happy and with fuel only going further north soon that 4.2 will be more thirsty than your 4.4 was/is.

Could you live with the interior everyday as you don't sound too convinced to me??

Dont start looking until the news comes in from the assessors and go from there as you dont wanna get excited about another RR only for yours balls to be kicked by the insurance co... Life always works like that so always better to play safe where you can i reckon Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just getting some idea of what's out there in case I have to get into negotiation mode.

As for TDV8s, I haven't driven one but would like to try (didn't like the TD6 at all I'm afraid) - but a TDV8 with mileage I'd accept (<60k, preferably <50k) is going to be well into the £20s I think.

It is going to be hard but with the added bonus of higher residual, less worry about cambelts and the like and the fact you get more from a tank but the same torque and a v8 noise. Though even more power if you get it remapped Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Gah, it gets worse!!

I'm in the fortunate position of having a company fuel card, although the FFRR is my own. Last year they spoke about removing fuel cards for any cars emitting > 200g CO2, but rescinded this at the 11th hour. Happy days.

Today they're telling me that if I (have to) change my car, then any new requests for a fuel card where the car emits > 200g will not be allowed!! Trying to get clarity on that but the person who can answer definitively is on leave until next week.

Therefore my car WILL be getting repaired!!! Just called the repairer, the estimators are not available at present but someone should call me back.

Whats up with keeping the plate and transferring it onto a newer RR Cappo? Surely they just have make and model and reg??

They would all be the same, and be non the wiser if you kept it the same color as well and just fibbed and said it had a new front end fitted at the same time :p FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
