First poster Ladies & Gents and new buyer

Hi I'm swapping my 911 porsche for a vogue but know very little about them other than they are one of the most luxurious cruisers buyable. I will be going for a TDV8 3.6 unless someone tells me this is a bad idea. The reason I mention the porsche is that I have been a constant user of the forum web site 911uk and found it a brilliant source of advice and info, I'm hoping this might be the same. Ive had a good read through but cant really see a post which answers my specific queries - se here goes ...

I'm spending between 25 & 27.5k and wondered what i could expect - ive seen a lot of 07 and a few 08's in this price range on autotrader. What spec could i expect for this money and what are the must have options, what models are best? Also when did the facelifts come through. I hear they can be a bit tempramental but we had a RR sport for 5 years and put 96k on it without missing a beat - so i'm hoping the vogue could be similar. The looks are important so what bits make them look better, super charged grills I saw mentioned somewhere? What are the best size wheels - some look a bit small but conversely some just look too big?

Apologies for the rambling natute but i'm starting out here and look forward to alls thoughts. Also if anyone wants to swap for a 997 C2S with 44 on the clock please shout!

This is my old one and is beautiful, well worth a look and very well priced compared to what he paid me for it:

Only sold it as I bought a new one.

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Unlike the others Whistle I'm not trying to flog you anything Very Happy

There's almost no issues with the 3.6 TDV8, no recalls and you should be pleased with one. If you really want to smile, get it remapped from a reputable company. 313BHP and 800NM is one handy car Cool

Facelift cars started on the 06 plates and included an uprated interior too.

You can't go wrong with a Vogue, if you want a few more toys as standard like air cooled seats, more wood trim, perforated leather and possibly Rear seat video then get a Vogue SE (like mine)

The looks are crucial as you say. In my opinion Privacy glass is essential, factory fit if possible but aftermarket can still be good, mine have all been aftermarket. Supercharged grille and vents if not already on the car will cost you about £350 on eBay and fitting takes an hour at most, anyone can do it.

Dark leather interiors hide marks and dirt better.

Don't go above 20" wheels, there are plenty of lovely Land Rover 20" alloys that looks gorgeous, stick with FFRR size tyres and avoid RRS sizes (invalidates your insurance in the event of a claim).

That's a good starting point.

Portugal 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Good option on going for a Tdv8. it's a way better car than the Porsche.
As JC put it, the best car in the world.

As RRUK said, there are no issues to be known with these cars.
Mind, be carefull with the remaps. The gearbox on these babies, the zf6hp26, has a maximum rating of 600nm.
So, in standard tune, it is already on the boundaries of what it can cope with.
If you browse a few forums, like RRS, disco3, Jag, BMW, these boxes have been know to fail big time.

Mine is going now.

Cheers chaps - really useful _ would you buy private and save a couple of K or pay extra for indie dealership - i'm assuming main dealers are a lot more money - i'm not averse to buying private as you can have checks cant you?

Thanks for the offers of cars - it might be a bit early yet as i want to get into spring when hopefully my porker will fetch a bit more and the 4*4 market will be at slightly less of a premium.

Am i right in thinking that the 06 facelift ran until 09 - so any model in that age range will be the same??

I will keep monitoring this site and might pop up with queries from time to time and thanks so far.

If you go for a TDV8, they are all facelift cars - i.e. there are none that have the older style exterior or interior. A sizeable facelift occurred on 2010MY IIRC

Earliest TDV8 I've ever seen was an '06;' plate.Presumably a pilot build car. Graham

06 sees both TD6/TDV8 - so make sure you get the later - electronic park brake interior with terrapin response Laughing Land Rover Addict
