2003 to 2007 or 2009 Facelift Conversion?

First of like to say hi Thumbs Up to everyone I'm new here. Currently own a 58 plate Renault Twingo GT Turbo small hatch back but have been looking for a Range Rover for a while now, i budget on getting something around the 03 year, but my question is i obviously prefer the newer shape front end and i know you can buy just a grille for a few hundred quid.

My main question is could i just buy a 2007 front bumper, lights and grille and they all just sit into place? Is it easy to do?

Does this also apply for the new shape MY10 model?

Help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Simon

welcome mate, it is not a difficult job to convert a pre MY06 model to a post MY06. however converting to a MY10 model there is a fair bit of wiring required.
have a look at the webpage of the site sponsor who offers the full conversion Thumbs Up

Hey Coko, thanks for the reply. Looks like i will do the 06 conversion then if it can be done by myself? (thanks for the link though)

If it is just a case of swapping parts and nothing more lol I would struggle if i need to cut wires etc haha!

Yeah i noticed the interior difference, not really doing it to make it something it isn't, just I prefer the look of the 06 facelift so if it's cheap enough with second hand parts and I can do it myself i will. if not then not going to spend £2000 on a conversion when I could of spent that bit extra to possibly get an 06 plate if that makes sense?

Thanks though Wink Thumbs Up

noddy we used to run a 55 plate SC (owned from new) that had the MY06 exterior but pre MY06 interior from factory. the only difference in the interior to our MY02 TD6 was the touch screen sat-nav Thumbs Up

For the MY2010 conversion, check out: http://l322.com/. You will get a pretty good idea what is involved.

Good luck!

Yes, Coko is right, these were 06 MY vehicles and some are on 05 plate registrations - they also have the benefit of the lower tax rate of £215 instead of over £405 !!!!!!!

Thanks! That's a great link and i must say it looks amazing, don't suppose you have a full list of parts for both conversions? Looks like the trickiest bit is getting the front crash bar on? Does look amazing though top job!

Yeah, asbolutely! Cool

That's also why I went for a '05 facelift as opposed to '06. You feel as if you're getting one over on those thieving Censored Censored Censored ministers...

Wales 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Cairns Blue

Glad I just read this thread, have done a deal on a 55 plate facelift. Just trying to sort out having a hand control fitted (disabled driver) and the fitters were claiming there is no way its a facelifted model before an 06 plate. (hand control different on 06 because of interior). I was disagreeing with them... turns out we're both kinda wrong! That sorts that out then! Rolling Eyes
