And also these bubbley alloys fitted which look good from more than 3' away and pretty decent tyres, 1 almost new but one heavily worn on the inside edge but am looking for a replacement for it an my others will be up for sale in a little bit as they still have 3-mm of tread left

Still not fixed the lower tailgate as been unable to track down the electric fault due to my electric meter being goosed and needing a soldering iron to fix it then i can get on with that when i get a day off and less house jobs to do.

The new wheels feel a little firmer when riding over rough roads(where i live is full of them!) plus i havent tried the cross contacts in the mud as yet to see if they can do as well as the wranglers.
Cornering is more responssive and certainly has more grip and feedback largely due to the sidewall height reduction by about 20mm which is only an inch but every inch counts  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well ive given the wheels and tyres a little time to settle in

Im not really that impressed with the Conti's TBH as they seem to have about as much grip as a grease covered teflon pan

In the Mud/Ruts/Potholes of a local ROW they slide all over the place. The Wranglers even at what i consider low tread levels (3-4mm) are amazing at this and just keep going and only slide when the mud is very deep or you drive like JC....

On a slippy road thats covered in the remains of grit and rain they slide as well when using 1/2-Full power...

Going to check the pressures tonight as they may be a few psi over but i doubt it tbh as it rides not too bad for what i thought they would be like. They may just need some scrubbing but have done a few 100miles already  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well i've got the 20" chrome wheels up for sale now as i can't get on with the firmer ride and the reduced ability offroad that the tyres afford me
When they sell the money will go to buying new tyres for the 18's or some new rims with good tyres already on

On the repair front i've ordered a cheap soldering iron so i can fix my multimeter and get the boot repair on its way.

I've now done the cheap seal fix on my rear wiper (thanks to the OP of the fix, Alex was it?) the biggest was getting the old seal out, and then cleaning the washer jets out

Next on the list this week between jobs will be to sort out the front windscreen wiper alignment and fully clean the leather in the car again, and put her back on her 18's

Also got just under 300miles from half a tank this weekend, mainly sat at 70-80 over the pennines but still doing well so far but the MPG is dropping now its back into town mode! Must get this car sorted and in A1 nick and think about a cheap TDV8 i reckon...

On the crash front the repairs are all good and im awaiting my claim on loss of earnings while the car was off the road for repair (as the TDV8 i had packed up...)

Well shes booked in to receive her new Duckworths front wheel bearing tomorrow and have a quick autologic on the BCM to see whats wrong with the lower tailgate as the electrics seem to check out but the BCM isn't sending a trigger signal.

She is up for sale now as I've been well and truly bent over and hosed in KY just because someone somewhere can't forecast resource requirements to save their life

I did almost get to this stage when sorting out the photos and details and sticking her across a few sites and posting my just bought alloys up on the bay as well, and then off to the caravan on thursday to give it another airing and then lots of photos in prep for its ebay advert to move her onto new pastures

Time for an update I reckon!!

She has done plenty of miles recently hauling my stuff from one side of the country to the other so i can get away from a knife crazed woman and attend court and see old friends as well.

She's taken me to north Wales to have a play and round and about normal journeys and is still clocking about 20mpg according to the OBC.

She's had another filter and oil service.

The viscous fan removal seems to be OK so far though I am changing the coolant so I can flush any gunk out of the system this weekend.

She's moved onto the 19" TDV8 style alloys from Nigel i bought and they cope well in mud and silt

She's been performing wood shuffling duties recently as i fell a tree for a friend, rubbish and carting duties as well for the same one to empty their garage, then moving stuff around for my brother emptying his (3-4loads from each garage!) to their local tips. Dam i hate the stupid height restrictions they have

Lugging loads of kit for work from one office to another, dam do old box's half slow you down

Got her MOT'd, left her dirty for last 2 weeks as always run out of time to wash her though the demon shine does seem to help a fair bit as a lot rinses off in the rain.

The BioD is still running through her veins and bar the odd drop of normal pump stuff to keep her going she loves it. The odd bit of 2 stroke is thrown in to help but I don't really see as it makes much difference other than a quieter start-up mostly.
She seems to be happy with rescue duties as well which is becoming a weekly occurrence of late as I'm guessing cars overheat or are just poo in summer.
She's shifted a 300kg marque tent in the back with the seats down and was fine, last night chauffeured me and 4 others to Blackburn and back via martin mere without complaint and nothing but praise from the passengers as to how quiet and comfortable it was ( i do wish i had the acoustic glass though!!)

The lower tailgate still doesn't release but then I haven't looked at the BCM connections as it doesn't bother me in the slightest really

I have also bought a proper rigid load protector, and the proper LR cargo net as well and am keeping my eye out for compatible side nets and that's that job done.

Also keeping an eye open for the top half dog/cargo guard for the kit i carry to be that bit safer.

Next trip is this weekend for some cricket unless the weather keeps its current pace, and then I've got a trip to the lake district to tell someone they have a son Should prove interesting to say the least!

Also getting into my biking so when I can she sits at a friends and I ride into work from there as its only a few miles away and the run is great, top out at 39mph and avg about 12 over a 5 mile route there and then the same back Makes you feel great and then there isn't any worry about trying to squeeze into an anorexic car parking space and then trying to get out as the main car park has a height limit of 2m(doable, just) but a weight limit of 2.5tonnnes so that's pushing it a bit

Im trying my best to keep her in top nick so some boot hooks and wipers are going to be ordered from Dan Dan the Duckman and if prices drop any lower im wanting to move onto a GOOD early TDV8. whilst im not a fan of the EPB and the Seats i can get seat covers to help with that and possibly just avoid using the EPB as much as possible to reduce wear as reports so far say as the cables stretch if they get too far and can't be adjusted then the whole unit is to be replaced at some very silly price... Though im guessing as they become more accessible in price terms this may well change and some bright spark will find a much better way to do it

All jobs now on hold as it looks like a possible write off due to the amount of damage suffered. A bit like Cappo's accident but this one has bent the sill in, but the rear door isnt too bad as far as i can see and doesnt need to be renewed as yet unless the cover is removed and shows damage.

The alloy damage is pushing the bill up as well as 2 new tyres and all the spraying, as well as the sill cutting and then welding the estimator has said maybe £5-6k so for the value i reckon the car is it could be a goner

Im hoping to retain it and not sure yet if i'll break it or repair it. If i can get a decent 2nd hand door for the drivers side i may repair it and just get the rear moulding repainted and live with the sill and other damage and then get some 2nd hand alloys and keep the current ones for off road use...

Its now on 142k as thanks to the ex the milage shot up very quickly but its now stabilised as i ride and train to work most days when i can which cuts milage a fair bit and fuel consumption too  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Looking at the break down its a strip of the interior on the drivers side, the whole drivers side and some of the front and rear of the car also has to be painted to blend it all in as well as they have to chop the whole sill out to get the job done ( I did agree this was a better option than trying to weld a patch in instead as its almost the same amount of work).

both doors are being replaced with one being £870 the other £630 and the wheels are £425 each.
