Why do soooooo many topics get moved out of this section?

I can understand posts getting moved particularly if they are asking about a single technicality / broken part / modification etc , but there are others which are quite a few general topics and ( imho ) dont need moved.

For example, the 4.4 sweet spot question from earlier. Its been moved to the My Range Rover section ???

Its not a post about the chaps range rover, or modifying it, or the technical ins and outs of the 4.4 ... its an open question about the RR's all round efficiency and whether its better or worse at particular speeds and what other people find.

To me thats a 'general' topic.

In fact, as a comparison, there are posts, in the general section, further down asking what high mileage folk have, and whether people think regular unleaded or super is better.

whats the difference between those topics and the 4.4 sweet spot one?

As I said earlier, I realise that some topics do need moved cause they are clearly in the wrong place, but just that some topics seem moved unnecessarily.

My experience of forums, and that of being an admin on other forums is that a sign of a healthy board is how popular the general section is, and that when forums get diluted with too many sub forums, its a bit of a chore to have to go searching through them all for topics and in a similar vein, going to the general section and seeing half of the posts with [moved] against them could potentially give users a feeling of

"ooohh, wonder if I'm allowed to post in here ... "


Anyways ... I like the forum ... I do ... just an observation thats all.

( I think my 4.4's sweet spot is 65 to 70 ) V8 or else ...

It's a bit of banter , but the forum is falling into a " should i post this picture , or should i type this " granted you might be doing it for the better of the forum but sometimes you are just taking things too far ….

Years ago this used to be good for a laugh and a bit of banter but now its …well

Just look at the General section alone there are nearly as many (moved posts) as there are actual posts

As fisha say's …. "ooohh, wonder if I'm allowed to post in here ... " ….

It's for adults with a warped and also Knowledgable and Technical sense of humour (me mostly in the warped category} …

So although you are doing a good job as a Mod Stan , maybe just chill a bit , coz i don't remember seeing anything in the QUEEN'S New year honours list of MBE's for services to a Forum ….

So chin up or we will all come down and dive off your bottom lip …

If after Today there are no more postings from me Martin and Stan have sent the heavies up … ….

We want a readers wives section....and I will kick it off!!!
