Since now the better weather will be coming shortly I have been looking at these snow foam lances and such , IIRC some members have them .

What ones would you recommend and with what brand of shampoo ....

Hi MICK,

I use the Autobrite foam Lance with a Karcher.

I tend to use Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. There are foams that 'dwell' longer but I think that's mostly a gimmick.

I wanted the foam to soften the dirt and run it off the car before I set about it with the wash mitt.

Think the foams work better if you have some kind of sealant on the paint first. IMO they don't replace washing but make it a bit easier.

I've tried a few different brands of snow foam, Biltt Hamber, Elite car care's own snow foam and snow wax and autobrite's magifoam.

Out of the 4, the magifoam is the better one IMO. Produces a nice thick foam that clings on for ages. Most of the time, just a quick covering with the foam is all that's needed to clean my car. Wasn't impressed with the elite car care stuff. Bilt Hamber was good but I prefer the magifoam. 2006 Mercedes CLS

I use this combo with good results

Not sure of the value of snowfoam, as oppose to just jet washing off the the initial debris, however it is always great fun  2007 3.0L Diesel VW Touareg SE

Lance and magifoam arrived yesterday , maybe try out over the weekend to see if it does what it says on the 5 litre bottle ...
