New to the forum and FFRR. I have just bought an 06 TDV8 Vogue SE. Had a few issues with flat batteries this past week. Today I set off, got a warning message about the transmission, went into "safe mode". I coasted onto the verge and the engine died. It turned over briefly before the battery went flat. Got a battery booster on to it, engine turns over but wont start, seems like no diesel getting to it. pulled a couple of pipes off the top of the fuel filter and no fuel there. Looked at some fuses in the rear quarter and they seem ok. Cycled the locks a few times but still no start.
Any ideas?

Always difficult to diagnose remotely!

Got fuel in the tank? Fuses all Good? Battery is next - famously causes trouble if it's duff!

On the bright side, if you have a Ducati you are already used to this sort of behavior from your vehicles and have a good breakdown recovery service on stand-by!

Fuel pump?

Fitted new battery this morning, still not winning. Fault code PO501 vehicle speed sensor range / performance. Car still will not start like its getting no fuel. Old Ducati electrics can usually be fixed with a scotch block connector and a whizz of wd40, wish this was in the same place.

How much fuel do you have in your tank?

Remember reading something on here about when it gets to a 1/4 - 1/8 full no fuel gets to the engin because a float switch isnt working.

Had similar issue with my 2005 TD6. After running perfectly car refused to start. Turned out to be no fuel coming through due to faulty fuel pump relay on fusebox - a few quid and 2 minute fix. With any luck your problem may be the same.

Most likely your fuel pump in the tank has died.

Back on the road again. The new battery I was supplied was also a dud, so I ended up chasing my tail. Another new battery fitted and all is well (today)
