Now down to business . I bought a webasto land rover remote for the rr t91 brand from flebay and I spoke to my rr dealer and they said that the webasto remote and receiver is an aftermarket mod and that the standard rr with fbr receivers are rr receivers and not webasto. Consequently, I would need to buy a rr remote and have that tuned in ?
What doe people think of this ?

As you say, it's complete and utter BS. I have both the T90 and T91 remote working perfectly. The only thing that you don't mention though is what year yours is, as you will need to have at least the T90 radio/receiver fitted which I think was only installed from 2006 onwards (not sure of this)...

I was looking at T91 remotes the other day on the bay and was astonished at the difference in prices depending on whose logo is on the remote. Seems that a VW logo'd remote is 1/4 - 1/3 of the price of a Landrover one. If these will work I'm thinking of getting one, but not a Landrover one

I'm not sure about the other branded remotes, all i know is that the Webasto and obviously LandRover remotes work as I've got them both. MY2007 Vogue SE TDV8 - Tonga Green / Sand

no, that makes no difference, however you need to check that it has the receiver fitted in the first place.

Have you got access to the LR Microcat program? I have , if you pm over your VIN number, I can tell you if it was fitted at the factory. MY2007 Vogue SE TDV8 - Tonga Green / Sand

HI, It's located in the boot, on the right hand side, open up flap, and then its located behind the fuse box, you will have to undo the fuse box and flip it over to see it.

FBH uses the tv ariels in the rear side windows. There isn't a specific ariel

Where is the in number located ? How many characters is it?

The VIN is located in the front windscreen, at the bottom of the passenger side when looked at the car from outside.

The receiver is located on the back of the rear fusebox at the end closest to the boot. you can see that there is a cable coming down from the TV ariel (yellow connector) and also a power connector.
