2004 4.4 MPG?

Gents

Would I be right in thinking that a 2004, 4.4 FFRR would average about 17ish MPG driven steady?

And the TD6 would be about 25ish

I have been looking for a FFRR TD6 but can not fine a clean one, so it is looking like I might try the petrol route and see if I can find a clean car.

Thanks Richard...

If you are after a nice clean 4.4 then you should look at Gazellio, he buys the very best cars out there, he has a lovely Autobiography 4.4 right now.

I do mostly medium distance runs in mine - work is 69 miles each way - Along A5 and A14 and I get 21 to 22 MPG on that run each day - but I only have to slow down about twice on the run and the rest of the time is steady 65 - 80mph - depending on traffic and slow morons in outside lane...

Petrol is a lot quieter inside - and sounds like a Range Rover and not a Massey Feguson...

The TD6 always sounds like it's about to throw a rod!

Do it, Stan. Thumbs Up

I'm getting 18.4mpg on mixed A and B roads with the odd few miles of dual carriageway, averaging 32mph.

That's on a work route of 15 miles each way, twice a day, 5 days a week.

I try not to drive too hard as there's little point, but my mood often necessitates the odd squirt of throttle to get past the plebians in lesser cars.

On the one long-ish trip I've done since owning a FFRR of 70 miles on the M4, M25 and M1, I got almost 21mpg.

Our E55 by comparison (AMG 5.5 V8 blah-blah...) does 20mpg and 26mpg respectively on the same routes, so I think the RR does pretty well considering the bulk, 4wd and aerodynamics.

All figures quoted using V-Power. Si. <This is my name.

I suppose I should have said that all my figures are quoted using the cheapest supermarket petrol I can find. I work on the fact that it all comes out of the same tanks at the refinery - and if it's inflammible then a Range Rover (or any Land Rover) will burn it (copiously) and convert the burning to movement in some inefficient way!
