I totally agree, but if you attach those batteries to a RR and recheck the voltage after an hour, I can guarantee that you will no longer have 12.6 volts!! MY2007 Vogue SE TDV8 - Tonga Green / Sand MY2005 Discovery 3 - Silver / Biege |

Then you have a battery drain. Which may or may not cause you problems.

Both my RR and Disco3 have / do the same thing with new batteries in them. (after standing for a while reflect only around 11.5 volts - maybe the inbilt diag/service util is out of calibration??) No issues at all, both running well. I do however give them a full 24 hour charge once a month, which I guess is rather excessive but works well. You can try Dan @duckworth for the original battery, but i think the 110Ah Bosch seems like a better option which i think someone has already given you a link in the first page of your thread. Good luck MY2007 Vogue SE TDV8 - Tonga Green / Sand MY2005 Discovery 3 - Silver / Biege |

OK, i took out my multimeter and tested the voltage on both cars after they have both been used this morning but been standing for about 2 hours each. RR - 12.13 volts Disco 12.29 Volts SO then I went into the cars and tested the voltage from the diags screen and both cars reported 11.5 volts. I did however wake up all the car systems when I opened the door . Obviously the diags screen only reports in .5 intervals, and maybe the cars both drew the voltage down just below 12 volts and thus it would report 11.5 volts, or it is slightly out of whack. Moral of the story is that as you say, the voltage should really be checked via use of a multi/volt meter for a true exact reading. The in built diags is useful to get a ballpark reading though. What amps is the LR battery please? Local agent has one in and will probably match eurocarparts on price but the eurocarparts one carries a 5 year guarantee and is 110Ah with 920CCA, don't think the LR one is? |
