It was a simple job ... what could go wrong ?

front caliper change was on the cards this morning. Had been getting crappy feeling brakes and a little binding in the mornings. I had known from a year or so ago that when I did the seals on the calipers, the pistons were showing signs of getting rough, but they were ok at the time.

2 nice calipers sitting in boxes.

Take the first side off and notice that the inner pads was quite worn, much more than the outer. Figured, there is enough there to get me going whilst I can order another set and fit them later. that was fine. Refit new caliper and go to other side.

Again, looking at it, the inner pad is worn more than the outer, but it'll do for a few more miles.

Take the caliper off and .... Censored ..... inner brake pad falls to bits Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored

Big Cry

Why cant it just be a simple job for me .... just once ! Laughing

New pads ordered. Ho Hum.
( Going to try EBC Yellowstuff this time cause of the larger tyres and towing use for the car ) V8 or else ...

Also know the feeling well. You have my sympathy.

Latest, as documented elsewhere here, was a steering wheel change to 2010 spec.

1st attempt resulted in not being able to release spring clips on wheel hub.

2nd attempt went swimmingly until I realised late Sunday afternoon that the old 'wheel back had 4 x Torx screws that needed undoing and I didn't have any Torx drivers. Luckily, the father-in-law did and kindly drove across to come to my rescue.

Front mudflap change this weekend to remove the ones for the (soon to be for sale) side steps and on with a new set of standard 'flaps. We're staying with a very good and trusted LR enthusiast (VERY nicely modified 110 TdCi) friend this weekend, so I'm hedging my bets and have asked for his help. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.
