Toe Bar intermittent problem

I have looked on here but cant quite find what I am after.
Basically I have an intermittent 'check trailer lights' fault come up which goes on and off with braking/acceleration and only sometimes when the wee trailer light is showing (when not towing) it makes the indicators go double speed when used.
Now I think it is an original LR toebar with 2 sockets as per usual.
My question is to save me from tearing half the rear of the car apart is there an easy way to find where this is connected to the main loom to check for dodgy connectors/corrosion etc?
Cheeky to ask i know but was just curious as someone must have wired up a toebar and know where the weakpoints are????
Cheers
T

The tow electrics ECU is located next to the fuse box on the right in the boot.

It is grey and has one connector, there is also a white connector next to it which also goes to the tow sockets.

If you have any corrosion causing your fault the chances are the two tow sockets are the cause. Worth taking each of the sockets off and having a look at the connections in each.
The tow socket electrics are connected into the car in the rear drivers side box behind the removable panel.
No need to pull the car apart. Smile
