The one thing I have never liked about the early SC cars is the front headrests. They gave them a big bulbous round thing totally different to all other models and IMO look pants, a real Heath Robinson attempt. The STD Vogue SE headrests look way better (IMHO)

is that just because of the monitors in them? Or are they bigger than the STD vogue se that have RSE?

Also, would you touch a petrol 4.2 (2005) with 80,000 miles on the clock?? Or am I asking for trouble?? Found what looks like a bargain for £20k but 80k miles on it.

They aren't bad but I don't want anything with blue - i think the blue carpet/plastic looks really dated and old. i would prefer all black, or black/ivory.

Im still 50/50 over the RRS or FFRR. I've found 2 'identical' spec cars (one RRS one FFRR) and they are both up at £26,995. The RRS has 45k miles and the FFRR has 60k miles.

here they are...

Which would you go for if you were in my position? And Why?

My answer would be ........

Without taking the mileage into consideration, but if you cannot actually see the difference in quality , finishing, style, and opulence, between the two then sorry to say but it looks like the RRS is for you ......

im not expecting many to say the RRS if they were both the same age and miles. but they are different, on the outset the FFRR may seem the obvious choice. But when its done 15,000 more miles and is a year older does that mean it will need more care and attention (and cost a lot more in the long run).

I'm in a bit of a portsmouth (FFRR) vs newcastle (RRS) type situation, would I rather be bottom of the heap but still in the premiership - or top of the championship and stress free living Very Happy I'm by no means your typical FFRR owner, i'll not be offroading it, i'm pretty young (as far as RR owners go - 32) - the mean reason the FFRR appeals to me is the image and the gadgets - I actually preferred the test drive of the RRS (SC) over the FFRR ( Surprised ) but to be fair i'd only driven the TD6 FFRR.

True, but although the FFRR has 15k more miles on it and a year older how well looked after have the two cars been, are they both FLRSH cars.....

Well test drive the FFRR SC big difference to the FFRR TD6 ....... Goes like Censored off a shovel ...... Whistle Whistle

Condition is everything and I find it hard to tell their condition from these pictures.

I always view a lot of vehicles until I find one that has been owned by a person akin to myself ie sells a car in very good order that requires no little or no work be it tyres, serving or scratches etc.

Range Rovers have always been hard to buy used as they can be used for a very wide range of jobs from an MD of a company to towing horse boxes to the school run to being used for family holidays or the family van when moving "stuff"

Every dealership has good and bad cars so just go and see them.

Expect to see light scratching down the N/S, scuffed bumpers etc as they are part of these cars charm - unless your buying like mine which is now perfect, but sadly not for sale. '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs
