Engine Bay Light

I was surprised to find (when broken down in the dark recently with my alarm going off) that there is no light in the engine bay.

Anyone done a mod to wire in some lighting? Graham

There's a torch in the venture cam.

No venture cam. I assume the previous owner took it... I do keep a torch in the car, but would like to rig up a "proper" under-bonnet light. Graham

It should be simple enough with modern LED lighting and a direct feed from the battery via a fused link. You would need to check if it could be attached to the existing under bonnet alarm switch or if a separate switch was required.

You could use a simple tilt switch for the light instead of getting involved in the bonnect switch or fitting another switch.

Yes. I've just bought some LED festoons from HIDS4U (D3 sponsor). I'll get a fitting from a scrapper and see what I can cobble up Graham
