I got a Wiggs module which is great, but I have a problem in that it seems to be on all the time so even with the car locked, keys out etc. So if I make a call from my house with the car on the drive BT kicks in and low and behold everything is transferred to the car and the call is effectively over, we can't hear each other.

Bizarrely this same module doesn't always connect (or drops the connection) to the phone on starting the car normally.

Is it me, is it a case of RTFM or is it a "feature" that those little scamps in Solihull designed in to keep me amused  Geoff

Geoff, it should shut down after the car has 'gone to sleep'. I cannot remember how long this takes exactly but mine will do what you describe for maybe 5 minutes (?) after stopping and locking the car.

I use an iPhone and if I experience the issue you describe with the call being taken over by the bluetooth in the car I can manually select the correct audio (have 3 options, phone, speaker & Land Rover)

I also use an iPhone and do the same also I can turn BT off on the phone. The car BT seems to stay live all the time, it used to connect perfectly but recently started playing up. It's not actually a big deal just another "little thing"  Geoff

If I'm on a call when I unlock my car, the call transfers immediately to the car which is annoying. However the iPhone interface allows you to easily redirect the call back to the phone's earpiece or speaker, so the call is not lost for long.

As a tip, if bluetooth ever fails to connect to your phone and you need to make a call, selecting and then deselecting the venture cam will often cause the phone to reconnect

I have had a replacement module from wiggs, all works well, with the phone auto connecting and phonebook downloading, however on starting all is lost and the screen states "no phone connected" any ideas

Justinp's tip worked for me - just select the Venture Cam then switch to phone and after a second all is well Geoff

My phone disconnects from the Bluetooth as soon as I turn the ignition off, but I do have major problems re connecting it everytime I get in the car

Guys I had difficulty putting into words exactly what I need to do to get my phone (iphone 4S) to connect to BT in the RR, so I nipped out and made a video - Spielberg needn't worry about his job just yet although I am told my honest Northern accent is appealing to the opposite sex so Clooney better watch out..

I only started to have problems when I allowed the Venture Cam to charge up, so I assume if you let it go flat or remove from the car altogether that may be another way of solving the problem.

When I say in the video the phone is connected its just to power - USB via lighter socket. Geoff

I'm too busy mate, buying wipers and new side vents this morning (while SWMBO is taking her mum out (SWMBO snr.))as well as making videos for the benefit of others

In fairness to Wiggs it worked fine when I got it from him, it's just lately that I changed my phone and of course charged the V Cam up.

I'm cool with the little routine and I don't have to do it every time and I do need more things to be at least a little wrong with my RR otherwise how would I relate to some of the moaning on here  Geoff

Sorry to hijack this post but im having issues with mine also. I have checked my phone so it displays only numbers that are on the phone and removed any numbers on the sim. I have paired and unpaired device but im still getting some numbers duplicated when going through phonebook on bluetooth.  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Venture cam will take priority over the phone ... Take the camera out of the car for a day and see if the bluetooth issues go away

Some phones will also show exchange accounts

I read somewhere that it takes 20 mins for the RR to go to sleep. That seems correct on mine so I get the car taking over on calls if i'm in BT range during that time. Just have to change the BT source on the iPhone screen. May take longer to sleep if you don't lock the RR each time you park up at home. I know some systems remain on then and drain battery!

I've had no other problems with my iPhone 4 or 4S using BT.

Not sure if it is any help but mine goes to sleep in minutes after locking the car. Maybe also because my phone is out of range of the car after locking (usually). Both with Nokia and Samsung (Galaxy S) no issues of "long connectivity".

I do have an issue, the Nokia shows my in and outgoing calls on the screen, while the Galaxy does not Must be the phone as the BT module is the same. Anyone have an idea on how to resolve that (sorry hijack ongoing ) MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
