So, out of interest, how much would it cost to insure an '03 diesel over there - if anybody doesn't mind sharing?

Cheers - Gav

A 50 yr old man £300

I'm 21 and I've been with my insurer for 4 years accident free. I pay £2000 a year and I live in one of the cheapest parts of the UK for insurance. Shocked

But aren't Aus Dollars 2:1 on the £ ?

So quite cheap for you compared to UK? .

I believe that insurance is made up of the following (in no particular order):
1) Risk due to the owner (job/location)
2) Risk due to the car (cost to replace/cost to repair/time taken to repair)

The time taken to repair will cover the risk of paying for a hire car whilst you wait 10months for the replacement bumper to be hand beaten (assuming you have a Bristol). *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

Aussie dollar is currently worth about 66 pence, so my $700 is worth about 462 quid - so pretty close. Thumbs Up
