If you have a newer petrol one, i'd say 0-2yr old then i'd invest in a tracker as they are the ones most likely to be nicked for export markets....

I would hope it would be impossible to steal a FFRR without keys.. I am leaving mine at the airport tonight for a week and it had better be there when I get back! Previously..

Exactly, er, well not quite. But I have seen 1st hand how easy it is to override the need for a key. Obviously not something which I would publish in open forum but I bet the info is out there somewhere anyway. I suppose the more pertinent question would be "Why bother?" Get the keys to your intended target. If we're talking about an opportunist theft then the FFRR is probably not easy, but then, neither are most modern cars. It's just that the RR is probably going to be stolen to order by professionals, not just pinched by the local scally for a bit of fun. Anyone in I.T. will remember the issue with a certain Security ID company a while back. Their master encryption keys database was hacked which effectively meant the token tags were then entirely reliant upon the user's PIN number. And therein lies the problem with any kind of security. SOMEONE has to be the keeper of the key so to speak, and if that master key is not stored securely (human error or deliberate) then the whole shooting match is thus compromised. Besides, do we really believe that organised criminal gangs don't have access to the main keys database at every car manufacturer in the world? Like I said before, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. |

Like i said, I reckon the big risk ones are new SC's and ones upto about 3yr old.

My biggest fear is someone sticking a knife of gun in my wifes face for the keys to our SC... I know that all sounds far fetched but its happened before to others... Is a car really worth it? But then as with everything in life, if you own something nice, some will always want to nick/ruin it...
