If you want to go down the route of a new windscreen why wait until you collect a stone chip.........Hammers were invented for a reason |

You'd be surprised how hard it is to crack a windscreen with a hammer, particularly when Autoglass are on their way to replace it. |

Last time I spoke about this to my Autoglass guy he told me that it didn't actually need to be broken before it could be replaced, as long as you 'think' it's broken that was good enough for him ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just rotated the photo. Funnily enough, it looked small on my iphone as well, but fine on the PC. 2005 FFRR Td6 Vogue

Have you completely ruled out the sunroof drain tubes? This is what happened to me with the water ingress in the exact same place.

You can smash the windscreen from the inside out using less than a tenth of the force you need from the outside inwards... Due to the curvature of the glass there is little strength if you hit the inside... Many lorry screens get broke when they jack the cab up to gain access to the engine...

If it's had a replacement screen (and often on old original screens) there can be rust that creeps under the bonding agent for the screen and causes it to lift, giving a leak... Or it hasn't been fitted properly and lifted....

Had car since new & it's only 4 & a bit years old so original screen & I don't think it would be rusty? Would rather not replace the screen until it's confirmed as the culprit! |
