With a the trim/roof panels etc intact, water runs down from the top of the mirror fixing to the windscreen (& collecting in the plastic cowl around the bottom of the mirror). It's LR screen, never been replaced from new. When I managed to get the trim etc removed everything was as dry as a bone. Even a hose over the car couldn't replicate. My next try at the weekend is the drain tubes off the sunroof. |

Just picked up on this thread, we've got a 2003 4.4 petrol and we've got a leak on the front screen, the inside A pillar trim gets damp at the bottom edge and we are getting some water dripping above the brake pedal. The screen has a crack in the lower edge from a stone hit (funny though the outer screen is unmarked, but the crack and impact seems to be from the inside outwards! This crack has now spread across 50% of the screen but not in the line of vision. We've been onto auto glass for a replacement, hoping this will solve the leakage problems, also the seal at the bottom of the screen when pulled back is full of dirt and crap.

I would say get it replaced at home. You're supposed to leave the car to stand for a few hours/overnight to let he adhesive set. Driving it will twist and vibrate the body slightly. If you have it done at home it'll just sit on your drive/street without moving. If you take it to their 'workshop' (basically just a warehouse), then you'll have to get it home some how.

Thanks for the advice, we're looking at getting a waterproof car cover temporarily to try and keep it dry inside as the earliest they can do it is the 25 of this month. |
