I did this today on a friends car, I needed a 8mm spanner to remove the 4 bolts that hold the black compressor cover down, once lifted off you see this on a 2011 TDV8

A little off-topic: I've tried to turn this bug into a feature.
My thought "What if I can manually block the outlet with a valve while selecting Access height and this triggers the 'Go to Extended OFF Road because the car is bottomed-out' function without physically blocking the car from lowering"
All done from the driver's seat, within the car.
So I fitted a standard pneumatic fitting into that outlet with a tube and a valve at the end.
Closed the valve and selected Access height and waited.

No, it doesn't work, produces a suspension error.

edit: at the time I thought to put an adjustable flow restriction before the valve to allow the suspension to lower a little bit but I haven't tested that yet.
It could be this also doesn't work as the ECU maybe needs to see the pressure drop (if it does see this?) AND the car NOT lowering on any of the 4 corners. 2012 4.4TDV8
2000 Honda S2000

It seems these sintered brass filters are becoming harder to find. There are options on Ebay but does anyone know the thread size before I commit to buying? I've seen 9mm banded around but can't find any M9 threads. Are they Imperial?

It's a really basic standard BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) 1/8" male thread on the *silencer, also known as G1/8"
It has to be tapered to seal in the straight threaded female 1/8" hole.

If this is just a vent then the unit is just a silencer and not a filter so drilling it will be the easiest fix at the expense of some noise when lowering the suspension. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It is a silencer.
In the suspension component location section, image E59734, part #11: Exhaust silencer.

As blocking that exhaust completely didn't work but a fouled silencer does make the suspension go to Extended mode gives me hope the adjustable flow restriction may work

Something to try this summer.
It will need a no restriction bypass to make it operate normally when one doesn't need extended mode (99.9 % of the time)
Close the bypass, simulate the fouled silencer, lower the car and voila! Extended mode! 2012 4.4TDV8

So got the same fault on mine. Wouldn’t go to access height, instead goes to extended height. Took out the bronze silencer and everything worked fine again. Obviously the silencer was blocked. So started thinking how to clean it. Saw someone mentioning brake cleaner but i thought why not try kettle descaler. Kettle could do with a clean anyway. So chucked in the bronze silencer into the kettle with the descaler, waited 6 mins and hey ho it was back to brand new. Put it back on and everything is working fine. Kettle is shining too. Thought I’d share it with you as an alternative to drilling a hole.

I had the same issue - drilled a hole in the exhaust filter and the car dropped down immediately. However, it's now sitting down in access mode and won't go anywhere! IID Tool reporting low voltages on two ride height sensors so maybe I need to replace those?
