Hello and welcome. Pound to a pinch of it's the FSR (final stage resistor). Have a search as there are loads of posts about it! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

A faulty 'Final stage resistor' is the most likely suspect

Thanks for that, I've just picked up the new battery and will fit it at the weekend. didnt know about the FSR but when I tried to charge the battery on the car the other day it wouldn't even take a charge, that would indicate a short in the battery or a fundamental short in the range rover's electrics, best I try and charge the battery again when I have taken it off the motor, before I add the new battery?
