I'm new round here and my range rover is dead

Afternoon all, thought I'd say hello as you all sound a nice helpful bunch, I've got a 53 plate 4.4 LPG that I've been very happy with (apart from lookers land rover and its air suspension) Took it out on Saturday night all fine and started no probs, went to go to work on Monday morning and the battery was so dead it was like someone had taken it out and replaced it with a cardboard cut-out, the lights hadn't been left on or anything like that. Connected up my charger and it wouldn’t even take a charge! Now I know that range rover batteries aren’t very fond of the cold, but that was a bit extreme!
Just ordered one from Europart with the 25% discount as quoted on here, so thanks for that you just saved me £30 (let’s just hope it’s the battery that's killed it) Anyone else's battery died just like this?

Hello, and welcome. Thumbs Up

Exactly the same thing happened to mine yesterday as well.

Have a peek in Technical for my own problem and compare notes.

Also, feel free to post a brief intro to you and your RR in the Intro thread on this page. Si. <This is my name.

Hello and welcome. Pound to a pinch of Censored it's the FSR (final stage resistor). Have a search as there are loads of posts about it! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

A faulty 'Final stage resistor' is the most likely suspect

Have a read here: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9729.html

Even the new replacement FSRs can go wrong so worth investigating. Thumbs Up

Thanks for that, I've just picked up the new battery and will fit it at the weekend. didnt know about the FSR but when I tried to charge the battery on the car the other day it wouldn't even take a charge, that would indicate a short in the battery or a fundamental short in the range rover's electrics, best I try and charge the battery again when I have taken it off the motor, before I add the new battery?

regards
