I can't think why putting a new battery in should kill the FSR other than possibly blowing a fuse for some reason but this shows where it is and how to replace it.

if you do have to replace the fsr then this will help.

Just went to check the fuses.. someone has gone with the plastic tweezers |

tbh john long nose pliers do a much better job than those plastic tweezers... ... - .- -.
