Supercharged! Convince me you nutters!!

Evening Gents

I am about to buy a FFRR and was gonna get a TDV8 same as my wifes car that I love driving...but I have seen a nice 2008 Supercharged for sale for £35k at Hunters in Southampton and am very tempted.

I probably only do a couple of hundred miles a week

Used to sports cars, but getting on a bit Laughing

Who has got one and what are they like??

Cheers

Paul

If you do 300 miles a week thats a tank of fuel for an SC....

For £35k you can get some very very good TDV8's, even 2 id reckon Very Happy

Get a good TDV8, get it remapped and enjoy the fun Smile Much safer bet! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Unless you have a company fuel card, or mega rich, then I agree with king pleb, remap a TDV8 or splash out on a 4.4 TDV8 Current MY2020

Over 5 years you could own a 1/3 of mine for that Very Happy

The fuel card means an SC to me as well Very Happy as long as they dont mind Super/Optimax being on it and you dont mind the bigger depreciation... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Scotland

Moved from a SC to a TDV8 last November …..

Do i miss it , yeah to a point as i have previously mentioned in other posts i have kind of compromised …

The SC i do miss for the power at take-off from standstill , the better suspension and braking system (Brembos) , did i have any regrets about the SC fuel wise , NO i knew what i was buying at the time and knew what to expect in the way of fuels costs and such the SC is a great car … (not a company car or had a fuel card either , wallet used to always take a gubbing) Laughing Laughing such is life .

The TDV8 is altogether another story , on the one i have at the moment for some reason they took off the Brembos , the suspension is a lot more softer feeling to it and at certain speeds can be a bit daunting especially at bends on dual carriageways , granted it still has the power in reserve when called upon and it is no slow coach when running …..

Only really big difference i would say is that i am not spending so much time now in Garage forecourts as with the SC i was averaging maybe 12 / 14mpg , now the TDV8 is sort of doubling that figure …

Would i get another SC…………………

Definetly Thumbs Up

Cheers fellas, just found an absolutely cracking one on pistonheads 2007, 21500 miles for £31,500 and hurriedly made the call

Think I may as well buy private and get a warranty put on it after reading on here

Speak to Gaz and see what he's got or is getting in instead of going all risky with private sales Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Gazellio on here, he specialises mainly in used Range Rovers, from what you can see on his website regarding previous stock, they all look stunning. I dare say if Gaz had a black sc with black leather for £14k-£15k, I'd snap it up as I'm sure it'd be a cracking car Whistle 2006 Mercedes CLS
