United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

I've had the sporty cars, the most fun being an M5, then I moved the the Supercharged Sport back in 2005, then I had a TD6, which really was slow compared, then a TDV8.

I had both diesels remapped and it made a huge difference. Despite having a fuel card and all fuel paid for, I don't hanker after a petrol one anymore. The TDV8 is a superb engine, remap it though and its sublime. It pulls and pulls and pulls and I do honestly feel that apart from having a newer one with more up to date ICE etc, I am in my perfect car.

You only have to stand on a petrol forecourt at the moment to know you don't want to be doing that too often in such cold weather. At least with a TDV8 (as you know) you can get to your destination, and back home again, without refuelling! Rolling with laughter

Pick the right one and you have Brembo brakes and all the toys.

For me, the TDV8 engine was the biggest game-changer Land Rover introduced. It was the engine that the RR had always needed. When the 3.6 is remapped its performance is better than a stock 4.4 TDV8, but the benefit is that it didn't cost you loads more money. Cool

Certain remapping companies will testify that they have not had any problems with customers cars post-remap. Whether you decide to reveal to LR that you remapped it is up to you, they can't really tell without a lot of work on their part.

Whenever I change mine, the next one will get a remap ASAP. Discovery 4 HSE

In all honesty, I would be getting a TDV8 if they would sell them here but only just before I leave on my overland trip. Till then it is S/C all the way for me. Almost time to go home and I can see it smiling at me outside ! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

The main reason your meant to end up 'in profit' is to offset the wear and tear of the vehicle, IE tyres and so on and also insurance as it was often the case that adding business use increased your premium.

If you really sat down and worked it out including tyres and servicing and insurance it would be more of a break even situation which is what HMRC intend as you shouldn't lose out on any expense you incur while working.

I'd love to be able to class my home as my start location and work for myself and the get a nice SC with fuel card so go for it fella Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The supercharged is a fantastic car....apart from its appetite for fuel. I love mine to bits and if it wernt for the fuel costs would say its a keeper but ive been offered 3K more than what i paid for the car 8 months ago and im seriously tempted to sell.

The only thing is i dont bloddy know what ill replace it with....tdv8's are still pricey, tdv6's are underpowered, i might take a 535d while im considering my next purchase.

Ideally id love an overfinch tdv8 but there still commanding hi 20's

The full fat is an amazing vehicle, i love it....im just looking for excuses to keep mine but £400 per month toddling around the city is taking the shine off my owenrship. Range Rover SC 35th Anniversary 2006

The Supercharged is a fantastic car.

The black dot after car is a FULL STOP.

You wouldn't think of saying, 'yeah, the Bugatti Veyron is great, but it's not very economical' would you.

Most great cars, which are fun to drive, guzzle fuel. It doesn't make them less great cars, it makes them more fun. It MAY make them a less practical proposition if fuel cost is an issue.

I think the TDV8 is great, especially the 4.4, and probably the next FFRR I get will have that engine, however I won't kid myself that it'll be because it's a better engine, since the 5.0 S/C will be the better engine. But the TDV8 is a good compromise between performance and economy.

Supercharged = No compromise! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Both the diesel and SC are great, all other things being equal, get the SC if you can. Life is for living.

SC's were Vogue SE spec so you get all the toys, which is a nice bonus. The Brembo's are also a very nice to have. Either way, you'll not be disappointed. 2006 Supercharged
