ahh so the td6 has the gm 5 speed. well that has put me right off the td6 I have avoided the x5 3l diesel for this very reason have heard many a horror story about these boxes and know a few people that have had x5s and the gearbox go pop especially if you try and service them to late ( after 40k miles ). the v8 is definitely looking like the better option - reliable gearbox, less miles and younger car for the money. the fuel cost is a concern but i suppose when you weigh it all up theres not much in it they both have their pros and cons but i must admit the fact the td6 has the gm transmission is a worry ! |

Sorry Roberts one isn't LPG but you could convert it within your budget if you wanted. I had an LPG few years back (wish I'd never sold it ). I was getting around 150miles for 40 quid of LPG if I remember correctly. That was around town driving too |

Last time I saw fuel less than £1 was about 5 years ago or longer!
