I take it those bits I'm gonna cut off the wings are not needed to hold the front wings on scarey?

Hi

I've done that upgrade a few times and it's easy,
No need to cut any part of your inner wings.
Just the flap on the very front of the wing
Only other thing you need to do or change is the crash bar
Because the fogs don't fit with the old crash bar.
You can cut the old one or replace with an 06+.

Beg to differ JR: if you are converting an 06> then you need no cutting. Pre 06 need a tab sticking fwd off the wing and holding the back edge of the turn signal removed.

Yes you need to trim off a flap from the very front of the wing.
I did this using a steel hack saw not a grinder like some others.
Then I pumped in half a tube of exterior black silicone
To keep the strength in the wings.
