United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Does anyone know if the wiring is there for a sensor? I'm having the screen replaced and they've asked me if there is a sensor. There isn't, but I can soon fit one if the wiring is there!! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

It was standard on the Vogue, but not on the HSE or SE. Are you sure you have a Vogue and not just a re-badged HSE? I see "luxury pack" in your signature.... there was no such thing in the UK on the Vogue, in the US this referes to the upgrade you could do to the HSE to get the nicer seats (the ones that are standard with the vogue)

Do you think you are missing anything else?

It was an option on the HSE (mine has it) so the wiring may be there.

hi, as dan said it was standard on the vogue but not on the hse, but was an option..you will have to take a good look at the mirror and the over head consol to see if the wiring is there. the covers on the mirror just clip togeather, how can you be sure it the original screen. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Laughing Definately a Vogue mate!

The luxury pack I'm referring to is the 'nicer seats' (7 series style front seats). The paperwork that came with the car shows it as a 'Luxury' pack (might be a dealer description). Having said that, I have seen Vogues with different front seats to mine.

I've also seen Vogues without this sensor, so I'm not alone. The screen I have at present has the LR/Pilkington logo, and the safety sticker on the passenger side, so I can only assume its the original one? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Standard HSE Seats:

Standard Vogue Seats:

The Vogue seats have extra pleats in to alow the leather to stretch, the standard seats dont and check out the stretched leather ripples on the base.

They have to be reset when you start the ignition. The main reason being for when Americans drive into a car wash, they don't rip the wipers off.

They are the contour seats, standard on the Vogue.

This might be down to me reading the handbook wrong- I saw the asterisk next to the contour seats, which seemed to suggest an option. Also, when I looked for a Vogue, I saw a couple with the HSE style seats, so when I saw mine, I assumed (wrongly) that the seats were an optional extra.
Hunters, the dealer who sold the car, told me it was a "luxury spec" interior! Pah!

Well that's one mystery solved, thanks guys. Just moved up from a D3 to a FFRR and was wondering why my wipers weren't starting automatically until I did something with the controls and then working okay until the next time I drove the car Laughing

Actually, I think having to reset is a good feature. While I haven't had the misfortune in a car wash I did get a pile of snow down the back of my neck several times when leaning into the D3 to start the engine before scraping the side windows. - At least I know my rangie won't do that to me Very Happy
