2006 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Adriatic Blue

I looked into the warrenty and they charge either 799 or 899 for the year plus a £ 200 inspection cost.

Or mine should be Turbo free motoring for a few years now Smile

Good VFM then compared to getting both turbos replaced.

I still can't see the need to replace both turbos at the same time unless something has been chewed up and metal particulates are found in the oil, in which case the whole engine is best to be stripped as well.

If it were me i would likely have looked at a Roller Bearing turbo replacement option as they last even longer and are more free boosting Smile

Its not the most expensive bill i've seen for a failed TDV8 unit mind Very Happy

it could have failed early for any reason, all it takes is one hot run with not enough cool down time and a bit of oil cooks on its bearing and then it forever builds up slowly overtime and gets worse till it either ceases or wears a nasty groove into the bearing sleeve/shaft.

Even still. I guess I must be old school, but designing something that's six grand bill for a turbo is poor design. To me, turbo s are wear and tear parts... maybe longer term wear, but still an item that is more likely to need replaced. At that price I think ill ditch ideas for a tdv8 and look atty a td6 personally.

Our just keep the v8

I'd have gone for the cheaper option................................................................. and burned it Cool
