I love the chance to drive the FF but usually the Mrs says we can use her car so it gets a lot less use these days but its still the best most trouble free car ive owned and ive had it 6 years its cheap to tax compared to newer ones i service it and maintain it myself and its just a great fantastic car and i would have to think hard to sell it on even above what its worth can you tell im very very happy with mine after all its a RANGE ROVER if its good enough for the queen onto no6 Range Rover

How can anyone moan about the taxes we pay in this country, compared to most of Europe we pay peanuts... Yes it would be nice if they actually fixed the roads using some of my hard earned income tax or RFL too.

Sorry, but I would have to disagree with this for the most part (apart from the bit about stealers charging over inflated prices..). Yes, the electrical system is complex, but mechanically, I find them really easy to work on (for the most part), and the general parts that wear are cheap, when you consider the original price of the car. Things like servicing, brakes, suspension are all straight forward, and most people who are happy to swing a spanner can do a lot of this themselves. I think some people get scared of having a go because of what they are - the Stealers try to make you think the same so you will shell out your hard earned to them. Service kits are cheap, and they only take a mornings work to do a full service that would include things a Stealer wouldn't look at. The brakes are stright forward, as are things like changing an air spring, etc. You only need a few spanners and a 1/2 an hour to get the whole front strut out - one of the easiest cars I know to do this. The only thing I can't work on, is unfortunately the only part that has given me problems - the trannie... |

Please don't forget the little matter of weather and corrosion over here in good old blighty! We don't get the luxury of all that sun in Oz... I've seen an 8ft bar bent trying to undo the two main bolts that hold the front strutt to the hub unit!

I'm actually surprised at how economical mine is. Land Rover must be the first manufacturer who actually make their MPG figures achievable... |

Close with everything else, but nobody drinks Fosters in Australia... I either drink my own home brew, Coopers Pale Ale (South Australia), or a nice Western Australian drop called 'Little Creatures' Oh, and Craig - I hadn't thought about the conditions you drive your cars around in - I can imagine how tight they might be if they were rusted up - my 2' breaker bar with my fat arse hanging off it shifts them no problems. |

Salt is in the sea, and goes on chips... not on roads! - it makes me cringe thinking about it..
