Good man, thanks for listing... Interesting they have not made HID light washers a requirement as was indicated may happen this time...

Are there any major differences ? I notice the tow bar / electrics now look to be part of MOT - is this new? (Sorry, I'm not a MOT tester, and never saw the old manual)

Tow bar and electrics came into the MOT a couple of years ago

The new requirement for tow bar electrics require 13pin sockets to be tested for correct operation of each of the pins by use of a plug-in tester.
12N and 12S sockets are not to be tested for correct operation they have just to be "looked at" to insure they are in a serviceable condition.
The requirement for the towbar itself is as introduced a few years ago.

Interesting section on TPMS. It seems to indicate older cars (pre 1st January 2012 won't be failed it TPMS is displaying a fault? :-

The inspection of the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning lamp only applies to passenger vehicles with:
four or more wheels, and

not more than 8 passenger seats excluding the driver’s seat, and

first used on or after 1 January 2012

The check does not apply to quadricycles.
The TPMS warning lamp (as below) will generally illuminate and go off again when the ignition is switched on. If one or more tyre pressures are low, the lamp will remain illuminated.
In the event of a system malfunction, the lamp will flash a number of times and then remain on. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Still good news on the diesel cat front as its still just a visual inspection which is great for the people who de-cat via the broomstick method Smile

The way I read it, is that it is only necessary to have a CAT fitted on a vehicle that requires a CAT test, and this test only applies to spark (non diesel) engines. Assuming I'm right, it doesen't matter whether you use the "broomstick" method, or take away the CAT altogether and replace it with a decat section as long as the exhaust is supported properly and there are no leaks.
Method of Inspection
"On vehicles that qualify for a full cat emissions test, check the presence of the catalytic converter."
Reason for Rejection
"A catalytic converter missing where one was fitted as standard"
