Battery Failed

O.K. plenty of notice, H.D.C. inactive on start up, but it's been doing that for at least a year. It looks original, 2004, lasted well. Gave it a quick charge, 1hr. Started ok but lots of alarms, mainly air suspension inactive. Rang a local factor for a price for a replacement, gave them the details and was quoted £80. Thought to good to be true, it was. After purchase noticed the A/hr lot less. Told him so. Oh sorry sir, correct replacement £180. Entrapment or what? Bit the the bullet and bought.
On return home thought I would start the car, all alarms gone except for H.D.C. will change battery when I can.
Lesson learned, confirm everything twice and get it in writing.

Didn't actually take the battery from the factors. Noticed the mistake before I left. Should have shopped around a bit more, but when they quote £80 over the phone.......hey ho!
Haven't fitted it yet, so might try some calls tomorrow and see if they accept returns.

Changed the battery without putting the bonnet on the windscreen, bit tight, but it will fit with a bit of swearing and shouting at my son. Just waiting for the warnings to clear, fingers crossed.
Didn't bother with shopping around, lots to do, like getting wifey a xmas present (wonder if she'd like a second battery for something).
