Hankook Ventus ST or General Grabber UHP ?

Hi all

I'm in the market for 4 new tyres and, which would you choose, Hankook or General ?

Am thinking these 2 as they offer a slight all season benefit and are relatively well priced but with good online reviews.

Anyone have direct experience of either / both?

Thanks

Carl

I was thinking the same way. I had General Grabber UHPs on my P38 and they were excellent. I also read really good things about the Hankook Ventus ST. Sizing options on the 20" for the FFRR meant less choice however as I wanted the standard 255/50 set up so I ended up going standard with the Pirelli Scorpions. Happy so far. 2012 5.0L S/C

I thought about keeping standard size but really liked the AB wheels of the RRS so have gone that route with 275/45/20 tyres which gives a lot more choice.

I'm swaying towards the Hankook on the basis that they look less chunky (off road like) and reviews suggest quieter but I'm torn because the General appear to be better in winter.

Not sure I want chunky looking tyres on my Range Rover though

The UHPs I had on my P38 looked fantastic. Not chunky at all - actually I thought quite road biased. Very smooth and totally quiet. They are directional so you can't change them around so you'll need a standard spare. 2012 5.0L S/C

I havent had but have heard many good reports on the Hankook and they last for ages. If you do a search (to use Scareys expression) you will find a tyre survey on here and Hankook came tops Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

googsy2 is right about the survey and Hankook Ventus ST coming out top. The survey was on 'the other place'. Rangerovers.net. 2012 5.0L S/C

I've got 275/40/20 Hankook Ventus ST's on my Cayenne and have found them to be excellent so far...

Very good in all weather conditions including the snow we had last year and are wearing very well... Cool

I have driven 15K miles since fitting them, still got 5mm of tread with even wear across the tyre..........

Thanks Paulo, its good to hear they perform well, do they offer good handling? A few reviews suggest the General Grabbers have a flexible sidewall which you can feel in bends, not sure I like the sound of that?

The Hankook is starting to win the war I think

These look like a really good all season tyre for 20" Range Rover rims:
