So, all that time ago I mentioned these points and some later on too, it seems Land Rover do Listen to us, as most of these have been addressed in the L405 (Or should we now refer to it as the RR4?) When I looked at the one in Stratstone Nottingham, the cup holder inserts will still the same as the L322 (so no good) but they have moved a power socket to the cup holder area if you need to power a windscreen mounted device. The BT audio is done, LED lights done, flashing rear brake lights under heavy braking done. Not sure about the Sat nav updating. I think it also has the silent blade wipers too, though didn't specifically check this. Electric tailgates are a good addition also. What did you ask for that got implemented? Just exploring my new L405 and have found one unexpected feature which I thought was good: when driving abroad, no need for headlight lens stick-ons, there is an electronic configuration for the lighting (drive on left or drive on right). Very sensible. I came from a 2002 L322 (so it’s interesting comparing the first iterations of each): that means my knowledge of specifications is a decade out of date! Was this lighting trick possible on the later 322 models, or is it new on the L405? Norman

Good news about not needing to adjust headlights! On my GTC there is no such setting but the handbook says there is no need to make any adjustments! Maybe thing's aren't as strict anymore or lighting systems are more advanced... |

Some lights adjust automatically via GPS signal, some newer Xenons have a "neutral" beam that doesn't have a specific LHD or RHD pattern. |

So, answering my own question for the sake of future forum trawlers... on the 322 it's a lever on the actual headlight (never had to use it on mine!) and on the 405 it's electronic (Owners Handbook page 55) but only needed if you have High Beam Assist (http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic20541.html) Norman

lots of talk about cupholders, how about a cupholder, under the bonnet! it could even have a loop of heater hose around it to keep it warm! and maybe a little magnetic tray to put your bits in while you are working! |
