Disabling the tilt mechanism

I thought I could live with it but it's slowly driving me nuts. The situation is that sometimes it sticks at the top, sometimes it heads for my legs - all can be prevented with a flick of the tilt control lever but sometimes I forget.

It's not really the end of the world I can drive it easily at the top and it new sticks down but i thought get it in the right position and pull the fuse, not quiet so simple as the fuse controls other things as well, but I think it's mainly memory seats - well i don't move the seat and no one else drives it so that might work.

Has anyone disconnected the power just to the tilt mech - how? and is it easy to do! Geoff

Think the easiest way would be to disable it with something like the RAC. I did it to mine as it squealed and I didn't fancy a £1000 bill to change it. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
