whats the best LPG conversion

Hi all petrol heads, i want to get my 4.4 LPG'd, now there are a few on the market and i wanted to know what you have and what probs you have had, would be nice to get a photos of your engine bays to see what you can see, or what you cant see to be more precise, lets see your filler caps as well. i quite like the BRC fuel gauge but i am sure there are others V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I recently had this same debate, about a month ago lol

I went with the BRC system fitted to mine by Capital Auto Gas in New Malden, I also went for the polished ring around the gauge

I looked at Prins and some other makes but the BRC system seems more known and easier to find people to work on the system etc even if ur abroad

They went the extra mile and the car is great

Theres some pics of mine from the install in the My Range rover section

I got mine done at Euro LPG in London, under £2.5k all in. That included twin BRC genius max reducers, high capacity injectors, BRC electronic flashlube system, largest available tank, discreet filler bracket under rear bumper.

I also got the switch put on the centre console under the DSC button. Mine was an S/C, so needed a lot higher spec, I think yours would be around £1,800.

I got my previous FFRR done by these guys too, so I trust them enough to go back for seconds, and I was even more impressed second time round!

I would definitely recommend the BRC kit, Prinz seem to have a better reputation, but I'm not sure it's deserved, I think with their current range of kit BRC are the best in the market! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I have a Romano setup in my current 4.4 RR.
I had a BRC system in my old P38 Range rover.

Initially, I thought the Romano wasn't as good, but once I got the software and changed some of the optinos on it ( such as the temperature and rev value it would switch over onto LPG at ) the 2 systems are pretty much the same performance wise.

The biggest difference is really the quality of the job done by the person fitting the system.

The chap that fitted the BRC system did a better job than the one that fitted the Romano system. And its really for those reasons I prefer the BRC system ( even though the reality is that they perform roughly the same ) V8 or else ...

I've got a KME system fitted by Andy Evans Autogas by me and can't rate him enough. Will get a few photos for you tomorrow so you can see, or not see my install as the case is. It's super discreet. The BMW engine is great and takes gas really well. You don't need flash lub as the cylinder heads are rock hard unline others. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

my mate is booking his up to get done next, as for running costing i can get 83 litres of gas in the tank (which is a 92ltr tank) and it does around 230-280miles per tank

I have only had my car a week but its fitted with a BRC system, it runs really nice on gas and as got a 95litre tank in the spare wheel well, I would have liked the filler to be fitted a bit more discreetly but you cant have everything. I used to run a 4.7litre jeep on a OMVL system but overall impression the brc seems to better.

Cliffy,my install is pretty much identical to yours with the 2 differences
1- my filler is in the n/s rear wing, colour coded. Not where i would have put it personally as i am not a fan of butchering bodywork but a previous owner had it fitted
2- My led switch hasnt got the shiny ring round it Big Cry

When they done mine with the compressor they relocated to the corner section on the o/s so i lost the tub under the carpet but my compressor is under there

My install is also the same as Cliffys. As I had to replace the air comp I put in a Prestonair bracket. Makes a nice tidy job.

I'm confused, are you guys saying it was relocated to the offside, or remains under the floor?

Mine is still in the wheel well. The box housing the compressor won't quite fit with the lpg tank fitted, however it's close, so with some minor modification it will.

This seems to be by far the best solution to the compressor question, since it's pretty much the only way to keep the compressor in its original location with correct orientation! Therefore no additional noise, no risk of additional wear due to incorrect orientation.

I copied this solution from Craig. Bow down Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
