I was in at Stratsones last week and they have a pile of Winter tyres (Tyfoon I think???) Apparently they are really cheap Asian tyres which they are happily fitting to all Land Rover models... kind of shocked me when you consider that Land Rover always recommend/insist on top brands for their vehicles??? |

I'd say this is all down to individual circumstance.

Tyres wear out, so having two sets means, yes they cost twice the price, but they last twice as long. Obviously the cost of the wheels is a factor but second hand wheels seem to hold their value well. i only jumped on this bandwagon because I am going to pick up a set of wheels in the morning. no ones mentioned the hassle of actually changing the wheels over, granted its once in november'ish and again in spring but hassle never the less, and, you need a decent trolley jack.. ... - .- -.

Yep, last time I swapped my wheels it bent the jack beyond repair and almost broke my back.
